WARDOGS FOB Guide — Building, Defending & Supply Logistics

How FOBs work in WARDOGS: buying and placing a forward operating base, hammer tiers, build-speed tricks, anti-air and mortars, supply crates vs pallets, and how logistics pays.

FOBs — forward operating bases — are the backbone of team positioning in WARDOGS: a fortified spawn-adjacent stronghold that anchors map control and prints money for the players who build and supply it. This guide covers getting one, building fast, defending it and the logistics loops that make it profitable — from community guides across the beta and Early Access launch. Getting and Placing a FOB

Three documented routes: buy one (beta pricing was roughly $2,400–4,000 — to be verified in EA), find one as a spawn pickup at the top of towers at round start, or come equipped via your squad's support player. Placing it unfolds a square build zone, and the FOB itself carries an inventory of supplies and tools — including small and medium hammers, which lets you build before you have unlocked your own.

Hammers and Building

You build with the hammer (small / medium / large — the size gates what you can construct), holding left mouse and picking structures from the scroll wheel: sandbags and HESCO walls up to mortar pits and Talon positions. Every swing pays cash, and hits on the yellow X marks pay the most — about $30 and 6 XP per clean strike versus $5 and 1 XP off-target (Early Access figures).

Building Faster

  • Swing-cancel: start a swing and release the moment the hammer connects with the X — restart immediately and build roughly twice as fast. Community report · 2026-09-15
  • Stand back a step: X marks cluster where you are aiming — keep the whole structure inside your swing arc. Community report · 2026-09-15
  • V dismantles misplaced pieces. Community report · 2026-09-15

Defending It

  • Airlock doorways beat single doors, and doors auto-close after 30 seconds — favor doors over gates. Community report · 2026-09-15
  • Anti-air early punishes the first helicopter wave and pays well per kill (beta guides called the early-AA meta overpowered; expect it tuned in EA). Community report · 2026-09-15
  • Mortars reach enemy FOBs: grid squares are roughly 100 m, ping the target on the map first, and you can cancel the follow camera (C) to fire the three loaded shells in quick succession. Community report · 2026-09-15
  • Assume enemies bring a crowbar (the large hammer has one built into its base) and C4 for doors and walls — harden accordingly. Community report · 2026-09-15

Supply Logistics: Crates vs Pallets

  • Crates go in any vehicle, contents are priced and purchasable by players at the FOB, and they are fragile — artillery deletes them. Hover a FOB's icon on the map to check its actual needs before hauling. Community report · 2026-09-15
  • Pallets ride only on large trucks and big helicopters, require no player purchase, and deposit straight into the FOB's supply bank. The dedicated logistics vehicles pay delivery bonuses per run — community Early Access figures describe thousands of dollars per round trip once the loop is running. Community report · 2026-09-15
  • "Insufficient supplies" on your buildables means the FOB is dry — that is your logi driver's cue. Community report · 2026-09-15

Why FOBs Pay

Construction itself pays per swing, AA and mortar kills pay on top, and every purchased supply at your FOB converts back to the depositor as XP and cash — the whole loop is one of the game's most reliable income engines, and the community consensus is that building is underused by new players. Pair it with the money guide for the full economy picture.
